At Dialectica, Pride Month is an opportunity to reflect, take action, and continue building a workplace where everyone can thrive. This year, in partnership with WELEAD, we marked the occasion by hosting an Inclusive Language Workshop at our Athens office on June 12th.

The session was designed not just as a one-off training, but as part of an ongoing commitment to equity, empathy, and respect. Inclusive language is a critical part of that journey. It’s about being consciously respectful and ensuring that the words we choose reflect the inclusive values we stand for.

Why Inclusive Language Matters at Work

Language shapes how people feel at work—whether they belong, whether they are respected, whether they are heard. The Inclusive Language Workshop offered our team the opportunity to examine how everyday communication can either reinforce bias or foster inclusion.

Through thought-provoking discussion and scenario-based practice, participants explored the ways in which unconscious bias can be embedded in the words we use. They learned about inclusive terminology related to gender identity, ethnicity, ability, and more—alongside how to communicate in a way that prioritizes clarity, empathy, and respect.

Pride and Inclusion at Dialectica

The workshop was especially meaningful as it took place during Pride Month—an important time of visibility, celebration, and reflection for our LGBTQ+ community. At Dialectica, we believe that Pride should be woven into the fabric of how we work and how we lead—not just in June, but year-round.

We’re proud that respect, one of our core values, is reflected in how our people feel at work.

According to our most recent Great Place to Work survey, 96% of employees at Dialectica said they experience equal treatment regardless of ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation. That statistic is not just encouraging—it’s a call to keep going. To continue listening, evolving, and creating space for every individual to bring their full self to work.

Words Build Culture

The Inclusive Language Workshop reminded us that words are more than just tools for communication—they are the building blocks of culture. Every email, meeting, job description, or hallway conversation is a chance to signal who belongs.

When we choose our language carefully, we are not only avoiding harm—we are actively creating inclusion. We are telling our colleagues, especially those from underrepresented communities, that they are seen, valued, and respected.

Inclusive language is not about perfection. It’s about progress. It’s about having the awareness to pause, the humility to learn, and the courage to do better.

Continuing the Conversation, Deepening the Impact

Building a truly inclusive workplace is an ongoing process—one that requires continuous reflection, education, and open dialogue. This workshop is just one part of a much larger journey, and we are committed to continuing that work with intention.

We’re grateful to everyone who participated, asked hard questions, and shared openly. And we’re excited to keep building a culture where inclusive communication is not an exception—but the expectation.

This Pride Month, and every month, we choose to lead with purpose. Because at Dialectica, we don’t just talk about inclusion. We speak it. We practice it. We live it.
